When to apply and what we need from you.

If New College is the right fit for your son or daughter, then we encourage them to apply! Because we have a limited number of spots available in the fall class, we urge students to apply early. Each year, we have to turn away a number of well-qualified applicants who apply later in the admission process, as we run out of spots to offer.

Below are the deadlines to complete the admission application file with all of the materials (including official transcripts, test scores, academic recommendation and other required papers). These are TYPICAL DATES, so be sure to check out apply for the latest deadlines.

For students applying for Fall admission:

Deadlines for Application File Completion: November 1
Admission Decision Date: By April 1
Deadlines for Application File Completion: November 2 - April 15
Admission Decision Date: Rolling - April 25

For students applying for Spring admission:

The application file deadline is December 1. Scholarship funding is typically not available to students who enter in spring. Please note: We reserve the right to cancel the spring class admission cycle if the College has already met its enrollment goals.

All required materials must be postmarked or transmitted on or before the deadline, and received by New College Admissions no later than 10 days after that deadline. Please plan ahead to make sure we get all of your materials on time!

February 15 is the deadline to complete the application file for our guaranteed scholarship program for first-time-in-college students.

Applications Factors
For first-time-in college admission to New College of Florida, we strongly recommend that your son or daughter take the most challenging curriculum available at their school, averaging at least five academic courses per year. We consider, in order of importance: level of difficulty of course work; grades; writing; SAT or ACT scores; letter of recommendation; and activities. The Admissions Committee may consider an applicant’s demonstrated interest in attending New College and allocation of limited guaranteed scholarship resources as criteria for admission to New College.

Our application parts include: application with one essay and fee (or fee waver); official transcripts; SAT or ACT scores, and academic recommendation. International students, and students who have attended schools in other countries, may have additional paperwork and/or testing requirements. We use the Common Application, which can be found at www.commonapp.org.
