Enjoy a video recap of this year’s event and view through the program below for one of Sarasota’s most cherished events, the 44th annual New College Foundation Soirée on the Bay, Clambake!

The event will take place on Thursday, November 2, 2023 at 6pm at College Hall on the stunning New College bayfront.

This time-honored fundraising event raises hundreds of thousands of dollars, allowing New College to attract outstanding students from around the nation, region and world and providing them with a truly exceptional liberal arts education.

This year, New College of Florida will share its vision to create a world-class Master’s program in areas such as Marine Mammal Science, Environmental Economics, Educational Leadership and Data Science.

Scholarships and enhancements are an essential component to attracting outstanding students from around the region, nation, and world and providing them with a truly exceptional liberal arts education. While New College is a public institution, state funding covers only a portion of the cost of maintaining our status as a national leader in education. The scholarship program closes the gap.

Please review the enclosed sponsorship opportunities and invest in the future of New College students. You won’t want to miss the New England fare catered by Michael’s on East, wine by a notable featured winemaker, entertainment, and a breathtaking sunset on Sarasota Bay. Don’t miss the opportunity to be involved in one of Sarasota’s most popular philanthropic events for more than four decades.

Best regards,
Elizabeth Moore and Don Patterson

Bifurcation Notice

If you are considering in giving to the New College Foundation’s Annual Clambake from your Donor Advised Fund (DAF) and to ensure your gift follows the current IRS guidelines for DAF support of an event, we would like to share the below guidelines with you

Raffle tickets, tickets to galas and other special events, auction items, and benefits conferred in connection with a DAF grant are not permitted. IRS has specifically ruled that costs associated with fundraising events cannot be separated, a practice known as “bifurcation.” For example, if the ticket breaks out the cost for the dinner and the gift to the charity, the donor must pay from sources other than their DAF for the full value of the ticket and not just for the non-charitable amount.

We recommend you confer with your financial advisor to confirm how you may still use your DAF to support New College Foundation’s Annual Clambake.
