Professor Zhu joined the New College Faculty in fall 2008, and is a tenure track Assistant Professor of Chinese Language and Culture in the Division of Humanities. She offers courses in Chinese language at all levels and in modern and contemporary Chinese literature and film. She does research in the areas of contemporary Chinese women writers, youth culture, modern Chinese cinema as well as Chinese American literature and film. Currently, she is working on a project that explores the cultural politics of emotion and the rise of romantic comedy in contemporary China.
