Experience New College
Come experience all that New College has to offer. Sit in on miniclasses led by our world-class faculty, learn about student clubs and organizations, find out how you can get involved in the Sarasota community and interact with faculty, staff and students from all areas across campus.
The next Experience New College will take place during the Fall 2018 semester.
Here is a sample schedule from our previous [Experience New College] event. Please note that the schedule is subject to change.
9:30 a.m.: Check-in
10 a.m.: Welcome
Hear from New College President, Donal O’Shea, and learn more about what your day at New College will entail.
10:45 a.m.: Faculty-led Workshops, Academic Programs and Support Fair, and campus tours begin*
Participate in a half-hour miniclass to see what life in a classroom at New College is really like, visit with representatives from a variety of Areas of Concentration (majors), spend time in the Center for Engagement and Opportunity getting advice on making the most of your college experience, learn more about Study Abroad opportunities or visit the Writing Resource Center for a little extra help on editing those college admissions essays.
11:30 a.m.: Student Support Services Information Sessions begin
Get assistance in completing your admissions application (no application fee during the event) or submitting your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), explore how to get involved in campus life, or discover the many alternatives you will have for on campus living here at New College.
12:30 p.m.: Lunch and Student Organization and Community Involvement Fair begin
Enjoy a light lunch on the ACE Plaza while meeting with students representing a variety of the clubs and organizations New College has to offer. Various community organizations that offer volunteer opportunities to students will be present. And, you might even get to meet some of our friends from the Sarasota Jungle Gardens.
1 p.m.: Student panel
Hear from current students what their New College Experience has been. There will be plenty of time for you to ask questions.
2 p.m.: Day concludes
*Campus tours will be offered every half hour with golf cart transportation available for those with special needs.
