This event celebrates the philosophy that student work should be viewed beyond the classroom walls, not only to their peers but to the Sarasota and Bradenton communities at-large. It is the embodiment of New College of Florida’s mission, which offers an education rich in hands-on research, student-faculty collaboration and independent study.
The 2017 New Scholars program will feature many exciting options including:
Several panel presentations from students on topics such as: the student-led, on-campus academic, peer-reviewed journal Aeolus, members of the on-campus Toastmaster’s Club, an organization focused on public speaking and communication skills, and students conducting botanical research at Selby Gardens;
Art installations in the main lobby from New College’s talented art students. Costume displays from the year’s performances in the Black Box Theater;
More than 50 unique, individual academic research presentations on various topics including STEM fields, humanities, and the social sciences.
