Volunteerism has always been a priority at New College.
We believe that community service develops the next generation of caring, active and aware citizens. More than half of all graduating seniors consistently report that they have engaged in volunteer activities. We are one of the few campuses in America to host its own VISTA volunteer office.
It’s not hard to see why New College students are so involved in community service: they’re doing what they love. Whether tutoring at the Boys & Girls Club, cleaning up the bay, or advocating for the end of violence against women and children, New College students are actively and selflessly engaged in the community. Many of them travel near and far to volunteer their time during Fall and Spring Breaks. Read about the many ways that our students make a difference.
