New College Waterfront Recreation Program and Sailing Team
Find your niche here at the Waterfront!
Soak up the sun or just chill out at an afternoon BBQ down at the Waterfront. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced sailor, we have programs and lessons throughout the year to meet your needs. We also teach students how to repair and maintain boats.
The New College Sailing Club is located on our historic Caples Campus behind the Mildred Sainer Arts Pavilion at 5313 Bay Shore Road. Our Waterfront Program is just south of The John & Mable Ringling Museum of Art with a beautiful view of Ca' d’Zan, the Venetian Gothic mansion of circus magnate John Ringling. Our coordinates are 27*22.80N, 082*33.89W.
We have a small fleet of boats at your disposal, as well as a few sailboards, kayaks and a canoe. Specifically, we have a Catalina 250; a Sea Sprite 23, two Hunter 216 day sailors; an 18' Hobie cat; a Precision 16; a 14-foot Track cat; a fleet of Catalina 14.2s; an O Day Javelin; a fleet of Collegiate 420 sailboats; a couple of Lasers; and a fleet of Sunfish.
