Adobe Acrobat is a program that allows users to read PDF (Portable Document) files. The advantage of PDF files is that they can be read by anybody using the free Adobe Acrobat Reader. The PDF standard also ensures that document formatting is maintained because it eliminates incompatibilities between different versions of software and between competing software packages. The PDF format is considered to be a widely accepted standard for sharing documents, allowing information to be available to the widest possible variety of computer platforms and users.
