Performance & Lecture Series

This innovative series is a treasure for contemporary arts enthusiasts and features outstanding musicians from the Gulf Coast and around the country. In 2010-2011, we celebrate the 12th season of New Music New College. The five-concert series  includes a number of pre-concert lectures and free public workshops. Dialogues with Florida's Past
November 10, March 16, May 18 at 6 pm

Time Sifters and the New College Public Archaeology Lab (NCPAL) will present three lectures at Mildred Sainer Pavilion on topics that draw upon Florida’s archaeological heritage while addressing contemporary concerns.  Each program features two guest speakers and will be moderated by NCPAL Director and Associate Professor of Anthropology Uzi Baram. The meetings are free and open to the public. Funding for the series is made possible through a grant from the Florida Humanities Council.

November through March

New Topics is a collaboration of the New College Foundation and New College of Florida.  This dynamic community series pairs prominent national speakers with New College faculty and alumni for stimulating discussions on relevant topics of our time.  A reception follows each program and provides an opportunity to meet the speakers, students and faculty.

Klingenstein Lecture Series

This annual lecture is sponsored by the Klingenstein Chair of Judaic Studies and the Jay Rudolph Endowment. This series is open to the public and free of charge. This year's topic is called "What's the Use of 'Men' in Jewish Feminist Scholarship?

Natural Sciences Seminar

August to May

The Division of Natural Sciences hosts a series of lectures on a variety of topics.  The lectures are held at the Heiser Natural Sciences Building's Soo Bong Chae Auditorium.  Seminars are free and open to the public and begin at 3:30 pm.
