2014 New Student Orientation
New Student Orientation (8/16 – 8/24): Week-long program welcomes new students with peer mentors, campus resources, academic info sessions & faculty advisors. Students learn how to negotiate contracts (register for classes), navigate mini-classes and join in a variety of social events to get connected on campus.
Parent & Guardian Orientation (8/17): 1 day program offers a variety of sessions with key staff, faculty and student leaders to address family questions about the college's expectations for students, campus life and academic success.
Important Next Steps:
1. Complete Project SAILS by July 31. We're asking all new students to participate in a nationally recognized program assessment study. SAILS stands for the Standarized Assessment of Information Literacy Skills. It's designed to measure a students' ability to successfully carry out college-level research. These skills are important for College, as well as, when employers are hiring new graduates. Go to moodle.ncf.edu to log in to your NCF email for a link. Questions?
