Impressive National Rankings
Here are just a few of the top national rankings New College has received lately:
U.S. News & World Report ranked New College No. 5 among all public liberal arts colleges in its annual rankings of the Best National Liberal Arts Colleges for 2013. This was the eighth consecutive year New College has been ranked one of the nation’s top 100 liberal arts colleges overall by U.S. News & World Report, and the eighth year in a row New College has been ranked in the top six among public colleges, which also includes military academies. In a list of schools whose students graduated with the least debt, U.S. News also ranked New College No. 11 among America’s public and private liberal arts colleges and No. 7 in the nation for the percentage of students who go on to graduate programs within a year of graduation.
The Princeton Review named New College one of the country’s best colleges for the 10th consecutive year in its 2012 edition of “The Best 376 Colleges.” New College is one of only 15 percent of America’s 2,500 four-year colleges profiled in the book.
The Princeton Review and USA Today named New College the No. 3 Best Value Public College in America in their 2013 list of “100 Best Value Colleges.” This is the fifth time New College has been in the top three. In 2012, New College was featured on the NBC TODAY Show and described on air as "an enormous academic value for students, but a great financial aid value as well.”
Forbes gave New College the No. 15 spot on its “Top 100 Best Buy College for 2012.”
Kiplinger’s ranked New College No. 5 in its “100 Best Values in Public Colleges” for 2012. This marked the ninth consecutive time that New College has placed among the nation’s top 20 public colleges overall on the Kiplinger’s list of schools delivering a stellar education at an affordable price.
The Fiske Guide to Colleges 2012 named New College "Best Buy School," one of 49 institutions – 24 public and 25 private—to earn that distinction. New College has consistently been rated a Best Buy school in the Fiske Guide since 2003.
Washington Monthly magazine ranked New College of Florida No. 6 in their 2012 list of the nation's liberal arts colleges contributing to the public good.
Bestcollegesonline.com rated New College of Florida No. 8 in the Top 10 Unique U.S. Colleges in 2011.
Newsweek ranked New College the eighth most free-spirited college in “The Best Colleges for You,” the magazine’s annual rankings guide online and in the Sept. 5, 2011 issue. Newsweek compiled the list of Free Spirited Colleges based on how much students can design their own majors, the use of written evaluations over letter grades and a student’s personal learning experience as measured by the total enrollment and student to faculty ratio.
