The New College Campus

New College of Florida is located on Sarasota Bay in the northern end of Sarasota County, across from the Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport.  We are situated in the emerging University district, an area of higher education, culture and arts along North Tamiami Trail (U.S 41) that includes New College of Florida, University of South Florida Sarasota-Manatee, the Florida State University Ringling Center for the Cultural Arts and the Ringling College of Art and Design, along with area businesses and property owners.  We are just a few miles from downtown Sarasota and 50 miles from the City of Tampa.

The campus is divided into three distinct areas, two of which are located west of Tamiami Trail along the bay, while the third is located to the east and is linked by a pedestrian bridge.

The Historic Palmer Campus

Located between Tamiami Trail and the Sarasota Bay, the centerpeice of the bayfront campus is the two historic Charles Ringling mansions, Cook and College Halls. This campus houses most of the college's administrative and faculty offices, including the Office of Admissions & Financial Aid, located in Robertson Hall, with a main reception desk in College Hall.

In addition, the Jane Bancroft Cook Library, the New College Foundation, the Four Winds Café, the Heiser Natural Sciences Complex, the Pritzker Marine Biology Research Laboratory, the Palmer Buildings, Hal C. Ball Anthropology Laboratory and Bon Seigneur House are all located here.

Caples Campus

Located west of Bay Shore Drive and south of the John & Mable Ringling Museum of Art, the Caples campus is home to the Caples Fine Arts Complex which is comprised of the Mildred F. Sainer Art & Music Pavilion, the Lota Mundy Music Building, Christiane Felsmann Fine Arts Building, the Betty Isermann Gallery, the Sculpture Building and the PepsiCo Arcade and Forum.

Further down Caples Drive and overlooking Sarasota Bay, the Ralph Caples Mansion is home to a number of faculty offices and seminar rooms.  The Enviromental Studies Program is located in the nearby Caples Carriage House.  A student run community garden and the New College Sailing Program can also be found on the Caples campus.

East Campus

East of Tamiami Trail and adjacent to the Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport is our East Campus.  Connected by a pedestrian bridge, East Campus is the hub of student residential life.  Here you will find the I.M. Pei and the Letter dormitories as well as the Dallas & Elizabeth Dort, Ann & Alfred Goldstein, Ulla R. Searing and Rhoda Pritzker residence halls.

Our student union, the Hamilton Center, is here as are the Hamilton Classrooms, the Harry Sudakoff Conference Center, the fitness center, pool, tennis courts, basketball courts, softball diamond and multi-purpose field.   In addition, Physical Plant is located on the East Campus.
