We offer housing and meal plans to suit all tastes.
New College is a small school with a residential campus, so creating a true community is important to us. That’s why all of our students are required to live on campus unless they have been released to live off-campus by the office of residential life. Five new residence halls, opened in the fall of 2007, join the Pei, Dort and Goldstein dorms, near Hamilton Center, Palm Court and other recreational facilities. Together, this fulfills our vision of a student village where academics and campus life seamlessly intertwine and "learning occurs around the clock."
Our Meal Plan offers a great deal of flexibility, since you buy "purchasing power" rather than specific meals. Cafeteria menus have selections for omnivores, vegetarians and vegans. The staff works closely with students who have special dietary needs or allergies. Meals are served in the student union, Hamilton Center, where there is also deli-style sandwich shop in which offers snacks, beverages and a small selection of staple items. The student run Four Winds Café, located on the bayfront campus, is a place for the meeting of the minds between students and faculty. The popular gathering spot features gourmet coffee and vegetarian cuisine.
