Giving To New College
New College has a legacy of generous support from the private sector. Over the years, private giving has been enhanced significantly by Florida’s matching gifts program, which provides up to a 100 percent state match for particularly generous gifts. This unique public-private partnership is central to our story. The New College Foundation, with roots that go back to our earliest years, plays a pivotal role in the life of the college. Its mission is to provide enhancement funding to enable New College to deliver an individualized liberal arts and sciences education and prepare its graduates to assume leadership role in scholarly, civic, artistic and commercial endeavors. We do this through direct support from private sources to supplement public funding.
In addition to contributing to general funds, the Foundation funds faculty chairs and professorships, faculty development, student scholarships and student academic research. We also provide direct support for a variety of New College programs designed to enhance the quality of the academic experience. In fiscal 2007, the Foundation provided over $3 million in support to New College of Florida.
New College Foundation’s structure also includes the New College Alumnae/i Association and the New College Library Association, which raises funds to support the Jane Bancroft Cook Library. We invite you to learn more about investing in the future of Florida’s honors college by visiting the website of the New College Foundation or by reading the Foundation’s most recent Annual Report.
