The heart of a college is its library.
The Jane Bancroft-Cook Library's collection has several hundred thousand items and has access to over 10 million items through the State University Libraries system. The Library also houses the Dr. Helen N. Fagin Holocaust Collection, an extensive collection of materials on the Holocaust and genocide.
Our electronic collections open new vistas, but are expensive to obtain, adding more than $300,000 to the Cook Library’s annual budget. New College seeks major funding to build its collections and endow Library operations.
Monies are needed for establishing and naming a Library endowment, endowing the Dean of the Library Chair, establishing named funds to support the acquisition of books, electronic collections and other materials, and to support the growth of the Library’s Academic Resources Center, which provides students with special training in writing and quantitative analysis.
