The NCAA chapter program is designed to strengthen relationships among alumnae/i and the college. Chapter events provide opportunities for alums to participate in social, recreational, and educational programs that encourage professional and social networking.

We are always looking for alums who are interested in organize an event in their area! Staff and NCAA board members provide information about NCAA and the benefits, services, and advice that will help make the chapter event a success.

The gathering will take place at The Brickyard Restaurant in “The Bridge Room.” A private space has been reserved just for New College from 5:30pm-8:30pm.

The American Sociological Association (ASA) is meeting during this time and it would be great for everyone to get together! The event will take place at the Redford at 6:30pm. The venue less than two blocks from the Hilton Hotel, which will be hosting the ASA conference.

May 1, 2014 - Baltimore, MD. New College Night Out in Baltimore!
Alums Meghan Shutt and Robin Jacobs are organizing a New College Happy Hour at Joe Squared (133 W. North Avenue) in Baltimore on May 1, 2014 from 5:30 - 8:00 PM. They will have tables in the bar area of the restaurant, and will break by 8:00pm so people can see alum Robby Rackleff's show at Wham City across the street if they want to.

April 24th, 2014- Sarasota, FL. New College Night Out at Marina Jack's (2 Marina Plaza, Sarasota, FL 34236) from 6:00-7:00 PM. The NCAA welcomes Sarasota area alums to join Senator Johnson and admitted students and their families for an evening of fun and connections. Appetizers and drinks will be served.

April 19th, 2014- Tallahassee, FL. Hosted at Lake Ella by Susan “Spozy” Sapoznikoff. The NCAA would like to invite all Tallahassee alums for a gathering at Lake Ella at 2:30 PM, followed by lunch at Siam Sushi. Belmont and Jones (featuring alumna Carrie Hamby) plus two other bands will be performing at American Legion Hall with a cover charge of $10. All ages are welcome.

February 18, 2014--Orlando, FL. Hosted at the home of Jonathan Smiga '75 - 4649 Anson Lane Orlando, FL 32184 - from 6:30-8:30pm. Jonathon welcomes all Orlando area alums for a casual alumnae/i gathering and meet and greet with Jessica Rogers, Vice President of Alumnae/i Affairs and Shannon Duvall, Vice President of Advancement. RSVP by February 16.

January 28, 2014--Boston, MA. Hosted at the Harvard Club's Main Club House (374 Commonwealth Avenue) from 5:30-7:30 p.m. The NCAA invites alums to attend a casual gathering and meet and greet with New College President Donal O'Shea and Vice President of Alumnae/i Affairs Jessica Rogers.

January 25, 2014--New York, NY. Hosted at the Yale Club (50 Vanderbilt Avenue) from 5:30-7:30 p.m. The NCAA invites alums to attend a casual gathering and meet and greet with New College President Donal O'Shea and Vice President of Alumnae/i Affairs Jessica Rogers.
$20 per person.

November 17, 2013--Sarasota, FL. The bi-annual New College vs. Ringling flag football game will be held on November 17th at 2:00 the New College soccer field. The game will include a presidential wager, a half time show, and plenty of fun activities for kids of all ages. All proceeds will go to All Faith's Food Bank. A $10 donation is required at the door. Free for current students with donation of canned good. Please contact New College captain Michael Long at for additional details.

November 1, 2013--Chicago, IL. The NCAA is partnering with New College Admissions to increase out of state enrollment. Please join us for a combined New College alumnae/i and prospective student gathering at The Crown on the 25th floor of the Tribune Tower from 6:30-8:30 p.m. President Donal O'Shea, Vice President for Advancement & Executive Director of the Foundation Shannon Duvall, and Admissions Coordinator Catherine Sinclair will be present. Light bites will be served. As there will be underage students present at this event please bring identification with you for access to the open bar. October 24, 2013--The Tampa Club, downtown Tampa. Please join host committee members Claire '75 and Frazier '72 Carraway and David Smolker '72 for an evening with New College President Donal O'Shea at the Tampa Club from 5:30-7:00 p.m. Lite bites will be served and a cash bar will be available. October 18, 2013--Richard Stockton College, Galloway, NJ. Starting at 6:15 p.m. New College President Donal O'Shea will present "The Innovative Liberal Arts: Higher Education’s Hedge Fund" at the Consortium for Innovative Environments in Learning (CIEL) Conference. A New College alum meet and greet with President O'Shea will immediately follow his presentation. New College Provost Steve Miles, and alums Julie Morris '70, Vice President of Academic Affairs , and Jono Miller '70, Assistant to the Vice President of Finance and Administration will also be in attendance.

October 12, 2013--High Cove, NC. Hosted by Olga Ronay '77, John Moore and fellow members of the High Cove community. The 4th annual New College potluck and gathering at High Cove happens Saturday afternoon, October 12, starting at 1p throughout the afternoon. Alums are invited to stay the whole weekend for great food, lively conversation, walks in the woods, and skill shares. Jessica Rogers, Vice President of Alumnae/i Affairs will also be in attendance to share alumnae/i association updates and new ways to get involved. High Cove is a 110-acre intentional community in the mountains of western North Carolina, focusing on arts, environmental stewardship, and life-long learning. Founders include NCF alums and professors. High Cove is an hour from Asheville, 4 hours from Atlanta, and close to Burnsville, Spruce Pine, Penland School of Crafts, the Appalachian Trail, and Blue Ridge Parkway.

The Alumnae/i Panel will feature several New College alums from various class years who left the New College bubble, took the plunge into the real world...and survived! Our panelists will discuss their stories, tips, and advice for students and parents about the transition from New College into the working world.

• Adam Kendall '98: Financial Adviser, Morgan Stanley, Inc.

• Charlie Lenger '78: Owner, Tropex Plant Sales, Leasing and Maintenance

• Felice Schulaner '78: Chair of the New Foundation Board and New College Promise Campaign. Felice is also the former Senior Vice President of Human Resources for Coach, Inc.

• Robert Turffs '74: Attorney

5:00 pm – 6:00 pm NCAA Alumnae/i Reception

Meet and mingle with our panelists and other local alumnae/i at this casual gathering. Drinks and light hors d’oeuvres will be served. New College jazz band “The New Cats” will perform on the Z green.
