His research focuses on the relationship between poetry and music in international modernism and postmodernism, with publications on Gertrude Stein’s operas and the role of avant-garde jazz aesthetics in contemporary African-American poetry.
His current work considers how theories of sound and performance construe the social and political work of poetry.
