Carl Shaw

Assistant Professor of Greek Language & Literature
M.A. and Ph.D., University of Pennsylvania
B.A., University of Southern Maine

Carl Shaw teaches all levels of ancient Greek language and literature.  His scholarly interests lie broadly in the areas of Greek literature and culture, with a particular focus on drama. 

He is currently completing his book, Greek Comedy and the Evolution of Satyr Drama, as well as articles on archaic poetry and classical poetic food-treatises. 

Other research interests include comedy and satire, genre theory, and ancient sexuality.
