Professor Edidin works widely in analytic philosophy, especially in epistemology (the theory of knowledge), metaphilosophy (concerning the nature of philosophy itself), and the philosophy of music. His courses cover most of analytic philosophy, the philosophy most widely practiced in the English-speaking world over the last century or so.
