Professor Sandra Gilchrist is the director of the Center. She was instrumental in securing funding for Pritzker’s construction and has been an influential voice in its operation ever since. Besides her director’s duties, she teaches courses such as Invertebrate Zoology, Genetics, and Methods of Field Ecology. She received her Ph.D. from Florida State University. Joel Beaver Joel Beaver has been at New College for 14 years and with Pritzker since the beginning. He started out in Natural Sciences as a senior research technician and is now serving as the Coordinator of Research Programs and Services for Pritzker. Joel is involved in every aspect of the lab’s operation and is an integral part of the lab. He received his BS in Biology from Hartwick College in Oneonta, New York. Brandan Cole Brandan Cole is Pritzker’s full-time aquarist. He came to us
in 2007 from the Oklahoma Zoo, where he worked after graduating from Bowling Green University with a BS in Biology. Brandan
is responsible for design and upkeep of our aquaria and is always available to
help students with husbandry questions.
