Tuition and scholarship funding amounts are tied to Florida's State University System rules for residency. For more information on residency contact your admissions counselor. New College of Florida offers these scholarships: Four Winds AwardsThe following scholarships are awarded based upon your Institutional Rating.3We award these scholarships by calculating your SAT Critical Reading and Math scores, as well as your adjusted high school GPA.3 (If you took the ACT, use this Conversion Chart to convert your score). Use the calculator below to estimate your Institutional Rating and determine the scholarship award amount that may be available to you.
Excellence Award—$17,500 ($70,000 over four years)
For the Excellence Award, you must be one of the following:
National Scholar Award—$14,000 ($56,000 over four years)
For the National Scholar Award, you must be one of the following:
The Dean of Enrollment Services selects the Affinity Award recipients. You are eligible for consideration if you’re graduating from an AICE or IB Diploma program; are a member of the FEF National Achievers Society or a Ventures Scholar; or are graduating from a member program of the NCSSSMST. If you receive this award, we will add it to your Four Winds Award or Excellence Award.
IB Scholar AwardScholarship Value: $2,500 ($10,000 over four years)We reserve a total of twenty scholarships for IB full Diploma Programme graduates who received the New College Junior Scholar Award in the junior year of high school. New College Junior Scholars are selected by their high schools for exemplifying the shared educational missions of the International Baccalaureate Programme and New College. If you receive this award, we will add it to your Four Winds or New College National Scholarship Program Award, and consider you for an Affinity Award. New College Mathematics and Science AwardScholarship value: $18,000 ($72,000 over four years)We reserve this scholarship for out-of-state students who were awarded the New College Mathematics and Science Medal in the junior year of high school. New College Mathematics and Science Medalists are selected by their high schools for exemplifying the shared educational philosophies of New College and the National Consortium for Specialized Secondary Schools of Mathematics, Science and Technology. This award supersedes the Four Winds, New College National Scholarship Program, and Affinity Awards. An award nominee who is also a National Achievement Scholar, National Hispanic Scholar, or National Merit Scholar, will receive a total aggregate package of $20,000 per year to attend New College. Scholarship Value: $1,000 per year Select dual enrollment students, who are members of Phi Theta Kappa and have a minimum cumulative college GPA of 3.5 (or higher), may be awarded this scholarship. Completion of the AA degree is required. Scholarship eligibility will be based upon the final college transcript(s). If you receive this award, we will add it to your Four Winds or New College National Scholarship Program Award.Latin American/Caribbean Scholarship Program AwardScholarship Value: over $20,000(The value of this renewable scholarship package is the difference between in-state and out-of-state tuition) The Dean of Enrollment Services will consider this scholarship program for US citizens and US Permanent Resident Aliens who reside in Puerto Rico or the US Virgin Islands, and for international students who are residents of Latin America and the Caribbean seeking an F-1 student visa to study at New College. Need-Based Financial AidIn addition to an academic scholarship, you could qualify for even more gift assistance if you are a US Citizen, or US Permanent Resident Alien, or qualified non-resident alien. Complete the 2011-2012 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at www.fafsa.ed.gov as soon as possible after January 1, 2011. Our school code is 039574. For Maximum Aid Eligibility: complete both your admission application file and your FAFSA by February 15, 2011 for priority consideration for need-based funding.

If you think you might be an out-of-state resident for tuition purposes, please contact the Office of Admissions and Financial Aid to discuss this with your admissions counselor and request the out-of-state resident scholarship information.2 Undocumented citizens do not qualify as eligible non-citizens. 3 New College will recalculate your high school GPA for admission consideration, and use this same GPA in the Institutional Rating calculator. A 4.0 is the maximum GPA to affect the Institutional Rating. For more information on high school GPA, please contact the Office of Admissions and Financial Aid to discuss this with your admissions counselor. 4 Scholarship packages may be funded by multiple sources. If you qualify for more than one type of scholarship, you will be assigned only the highest level of award for which you are eligible (with the exception of the Affinity Award, IB Scholar Award, and PTK Scholar Award, which may supplement the highest level of award as noted). 5 For the New College Excellence Award, New College will supplement the student’s National Achievement® Finalist scholarship—corporate-sponsored or National Achievement® Scholarship—to guarantee the full amount. 6 For the New College Excellence Award, New College will supplement the student’s National Merit® Finalist scholarship—corporate-sponsored, college-sponsored, or National Merit® Scholarship—to guarantee the full amount.
