STUDENTS
New College
is casual on the surface but, on closer inspection, it's an intense
community, a place of hard work and zany play. New College's current
enrollment is approximately 750 students, over half of whom are women and
20 percent
of whom are from outside Florida. This is a
community of talented students from many backgrounds.

DIVERSITY
New College's founders recognized that the day was passing when one gender of one race could monopolize political, economic, and cultural power. They opened New College, which was by charter non-sectarian, to men and
women of all races; we are told that when New College began, it was the only racially open college in Florida.
A $1,000,000 gift from the PepsiCo Foundation is enabling New College to increase minority
scholarships and strengthen efforts
to bring more minority faculty and staff into the campus community.
