Visiting New College

A campus visit is one of the best ways to get to know a school. We invite you to come see our beautiful bayfront campus and experience New College first-hand: chat with current students, eat lunch in the cafeteria, wander through our historic mansions, poke around in the library. While in town, you may want to stay for a day or two to relax in Sarasota, named the best small city in the US by Money magazine.

To schedule any type of visit listed below, call Fisher Qua at (941) 487-5000.

You may also download our Visit Request Form, fill it out, and fax it to us at (941) 487-5010.  Please advise us in advance if you will require any special accommodations during your visit.

Please do not make any travel arrangements until your visit has been confirmed.

Information Session & Campus Tour

Information sessions are generally offered every weekday, excluding holidays.  These informal sessions with an admissions counselor are perfect for students and their families and friends to get an overview of academic and social life at New College.  They are interactive and designed to help answer any questions you might have.

Campus tours usually led by current New College students.  You'll not only see our unique and beautiful campus, but also have a chance to get an "insider's view" about life as a New College student.

Class Visits

Our innovative classroom discussions are the backbone of New College's progressive education!  Eligible prospective students may visit classes during each of our regular semesters to get a first-hand look our academics in action. Often, they get the opportunity to speak with the professor after the class. Contact us for a list of the available classes and to schedule class visits. (New College is not in session during the summer.)

Formal Interview

Although not required, you may request a formal interview with your admission counselor if you feel it would benefit the review of you candidacy for admission. To schedule an interview, please contact your admission counselor directly.

Financial Aid Session

You may request to meet with staff from the Office of Financial Aid to discuss a variety of concerns including scholarships, need-based financial aid, and how and when to file the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). Visit the Financial Aid web page for more information or call (941) 487-5001.
