Mary Hill

Degree: Bachelor of Liberal Arts
Major/Department: Art
Hometown: St. Petersburg, FL
Division: Humanities

Biography:

What led you to choose NCF for this degree?
I didn’t choose NCF in order to pursue any specific degree. In fact, it was the opposite. I chose NCF so that I could thoroughly explore each inkling of interest that spurred me. I knew that was exactly what I needed to do to really find something I couldn’t get out of my head.

What do you like about NCF and your major?
Hearing the phrase “we’ll figure it out” after almost every request I’ve ever made.

What do you value most about studying at NCF?
The active interest that everyone surrounding me (students and professors alike) invest(s?) into their own development, academically and otherwise.

Please tell us about what makes NCF so special?
Headphone dance parties as the sun sets and the tide comes in.

What advice would you give to current or prospective students?
Do whatever you want. Do it here and now.

What are your plans for the future?
I plan to get an M.F.A. and then possibly a Ph.D. in Art Theory, all the while pursuing my own artistic concepts and questions. This will probably include making lots of messes.
