Biography:
What led you to choose NCF for this degree?
I was looking for a small and strong Natural Science Division, but more importantly I was looking for a school where I could pursue my interests outside of my own major, mainly art. Honestly though, I needed to find a place where I could live in for the next 4 years of my life.
What do you like about NCF and your major?
I love the sense of community in NC. About my major, I mostly like theoretical physics; although it can be painful at times, the little moments of gratification make the whole process worth the while.
What do you value most about studying at NCF?
I really like the effort that the faculty puts to being accessible to the students. Also, having such a supportive community, where for the great majority of the time we all try to work for the common good…or at least that is what I like to think.
What advice would you give to current or prospective students?
Be prepared to put a great deal of effort on your studies and life in general, but make sure to balance it all out with a healthy personal/social life. But I think that applies to just about anybody going through such a significant change in their life, not just NC prospective students. And, make sure to enjoy yourself, while doing it all.
How would you rate your experience at NCF overall?
It has be awesome. It has been rough at times, but overall the past 3 years has been the most significant growing period of my life.
What are your plans for the future?
For now, I am trying to do an REU, graduate, thesis and maybe do some research somewhere for a year. Meanwhile, apply to grad school and do the whole GRE thing. I am looking into studying Theoretical Physics. Who knows? Maybe go for a long road trip in between all that and maybe even find something new along the way.
