06/02/14, 3:40 PM: Campus Police received a call from a student advising that an unknown person(s) used his personal information to obtain a credit card. The investigation is on-going.

05/29/14, 5:08 PM: Campus Police received a report of the theft of property from a New College Staff Member. The item was removed from the area of the Sail Club. A copy of the report will be sent to Student Affairs. (2014-0463)

05/23/14, 2:15 PM:  Campus Police received a report of a burned couch on a third floor landing in Z Residence Hall.  The State Fire Marshall was contacted and started an investigation.  The investigation is continuing.  A copy of the report will be sent to Environmental Health and Safety, Physical Plant Administration, and Student Affairs.  Officer Walker.  $1100.00.

05/22/14, 3:48 AM:  Campus Police received a report from a New College Staff Member that a fire extinguisher had been expelled in a Pei South Residence Hall Room.  A copy of the report will be sent to Student Affairs and Physical Plant Administration.  (2014-0447)

05/21/14, 7:40 PM:  Campus Police received a report of a theft of a bike from a New College Student. The bike had been left unsecured near Z Residence Hall approximately one week ago. The bike was entered into the national crime database.

05/20/14, 3:06 PM:  Campus Police received a report from a New College Staff Member regarding the theft of a sign from the area of Dort Promenade. Campus Police discovered the sign had been damaged and was removed by a Custodial Staff Member and given to PHS for repair.  A copy of the report will be sent to Jono Miller and PHS Administration.  (2014-0444)

05/11/14, 2:53 AM: Campus Police received a report from a New College Student regarding the theft of her cell phone from the area of Goldstein Residence Hall. The serial number was not available and the incident was documented at this time. (2014-0418)

04/29/14, 4:10 AM: Campus Police discovered property damage near the fire road behind Physical Plant. Further investigation revealed that a vehicle operated by a non-affiliate had crashed into a pile of brick pavers stored near the roadway and then fled the scene. The Sarasota County Sheriff's Department subsequently stopped the vehicle on Lockwood Ridge Road. Campus Police brought the driver back to campus where he was issued a Traffic Citation for Careless Driving and a Criminal Traffic Citation for Leaving the Scene of a Traffic Crash. The driver was taken to the Sarasota County Jail and Campus Police are continuing the investigation. 04/21/14, 3:00 PM: Campus Police received a report of a possible theft from the Sarasota Car Museum where the stolen property ended up on the New College Caples Campus. The theft may have been committed by one or more New College Students who also trespassed within the Physical Plant Compound. The matter remains under investigation. 04/22/14, 12:04 PM: Campus Police received a report from a New College Student in Pei Residence Hall South regarding the theft of her locked bike from the Pei 3rd Court bike rack. The serial number was available and the bike was entered into the National Crime Database. (2014-0356)

03/11/14, 2:00 AM: Campus Police received a report from a New College Student regarding the theft of his locked bicycle from a bike rack near the Cook Library. The bike was registered with Campus Police and the serial number was entered in the National Crime Database. (2014-0241)

03/07/14, 10:19 AM: Campus Police received a report from USFSM Security regarding a theft of money from a purse belonging to a Life Long Learning Academy Student. 03/03/14, 4:51 PM: Campus Police received a report from a New College Student regarding the theft of his skateboard from the Academic Center Building. The incident was documented.

02/26/14, 10:56 AM: Campus Police received a report from a New College Student in the Cook Library regarding a theft. The stolen item was entered into the National Crime Database and the matter remains under investigation. A copy of the report will be sent to Library Administration. (2014-0204)

02/15/14, 10:35 AM: Campus Police received a report from Ringling Museum Security regarding a suspicious subject on New College property. The non-affiliated subject was checked, issued a No Trespass Order and released. While driving his vehicle off of campus the subject was involved in a property damage crash in front of the Academic Building causing damage to the walkway area. The subject was subsequently taken to a local mental health treatment facility under a Baker Act. The subject will be charged with Careless Driving and Criminal Mischief in Sarasota County Court. 02/13/14, 1:45 PM: Campus Police located a non-affiliated subject in Parking Lot #1 East of Hamilton Center that had been previously issued a No Trespass Order. The subject was arrested for Trespass after Warning and transported to the Sarasota County Jail without incident.

02/05/14, 8:53 PM: Campus Police received a report from a New College Staff Member in the Cook Library regarding a suspicious person. Campus Police located the subject who is a USFSM Student. The Student was referred to USFSM Student Services for his involvement in two previous indecency issues from late 2013 that had occurred inside the Cook Library. The Student was released and the case remains under investigation. A copy of the report will be sent to USFSM Student Services, USFSM Administration, and NCF Library Administration. (2014-0131)

01/29/14, 9:16 AM: Campus Police received a report from a New College Physical Plant Staff Member regarding the theft of backpack blower from his campus vehicle parked in the shed area near Physical Plant. 01/25/14, 4:39 AM: Campus Police stopped a vehicle in the fire lane near Z Green and after an investigation the non-affiliated driver was arrested for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol. The subject was checked, issued a No Trespass Order and taken to the Sarasota County Jail. (2014-0097)

01/19/14, 9:44 PM: Campus Police received a report from a New College Student regarding the theft of her locked bicycle from the bike rack located near X Residence Hall. There were no serial numbers available and the bike could not be entered into the nationwide database. (2013-0081)

12/07/13, 11:51 PM: Campus Police discovered an underage New College Student in possession of an alcoholic beverage in the area of Pei Residence Hall East. The Student was referred to Student Affairs. A copy of the report will be sent to Student Affairs and the CWC. (2013-1096)

12/06/13, 11:39 PM: Campus Police discovered two non-affiliated subjects in a vehicle in the parking lot of Hamilton Center. One subject had previously been issued a No Trespass Order. He was arrested and taken to the Sarasota County Jail charged with Trespass after Warning. He was also cited for Driving While Suspended. A non-affiliated subject was checked, issued a No Trespass Order and released. A New College Student in the vehicle was released. A copy of the report will be sent to Student Affairs. (2013-1097)

12/06/13, 10:40 PM: Campus Police discovered three underage New College Students in possession of alcoholic beverages in the area of Palm Court. The Students were referred to Student Affairs. One of the Students involved had a prior similar offense. A copy of the report will be sent to Student Affairs and the CWC. (2013-1093)

12/04/13, 5:48 PM: Campus Police discovered two suspicious, non-affiliated subjects in the Sudakoff Parking Lot. The subjects were checked and issued No Trespass Orders. One subject was arrested and charged with 2 counts of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and one count of Possession of Cocaine. That subject was taken to the Sarasota County Jail while the second was released. (2013-1084)

11/28/13, 1:06 PM: Campus Police received a report from a New College Student that her locked bike was stolen from the Pei Residence Hall South area. The bike was registered with Campus Police. The serial number was entered into the national crime database and local pawn records were checked.

11/17/13, 11:15 PM: Campus Police discovered a New College Student in Pei Residence Hall South who was in possession of marijuana. Campus Police issued the Student a Notice to Appear in Sarasota County Court for Possession of Marijuana Less than 20 Grams and he was released. The Student was referred to Student Affairs and a CLC was notified. A copy of the report will be sent to the CWC and Student Affairs. (2013-1042)

11/17/13, 4:45 PM: Campus Police received a report from a New College Student regarding a theft at the Fitness Center. The incident was documented. A copy of the report will be sent to Student Affairs and Fitness Center Administration. (2013-1038)

11/10/13, 9:23 PM: While investigating the incident involving the intoxicated student in W Residence Hall, Campus Police observed marijuana and drug paraphernalia in the area along with a 17 year old New College Student. After further investigation, that Student was taken to a local mental health facility under a Baker Act. The Student faces charges of Possession of Marijuana over 20 grams, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Possession with the Intent to Manufacture or Distribute. (2013-1015)

11/10/13, 11:29 AM: Campus Police received a report from a Sodexo Employee regarding property damage to his vehicle. Campus Police are continuing the investigation. A copy of the report will be sent to Environmental Health and Safety. (2013-1012)

11/03/13, 1:43 AM: Campus Police received a report from Sarasota County EMS regarding an intoxicated New College Student in V Residence Hall who was ill. Campus Police assisted EMS and the Student was taken to a local hospital for treatment. A CLC was contacted. The Student will be referred to Student Affairs. A copy of the report will be sent to Student Affairs and the Counseling and Wellness Center. (2013-0987)

11/01/13, 5:55 PM: Campus Police received a report from a New College Student regarding a suspicious subject. Campus Police located the non-affiliated subject in the area of the Cook Library and learned he had previously been issued a No Trespass Order. Due to an unknown illness, Sarasota County EMS was contacted and the subject was taken to a local hospital for treatment. Campus Police will file charges of Trespass after Warning with the Sarasota County State's Attorney.

10/25/13, 11:10 PM: Campus Police located an underage New College Student in possession of alcohol in the area of the Hamilton Classrooms. The Student was referred to Student Affairs. A copy of the report will be sent to Student Affairs and the Counseling and Wellness Center. (2013-0951)

10/25/13, 9:33 PM: Campus Police received a report from an anonymous caller regarding two suspicious subjects in Hamilton Center. Campus Police located the two non-affiliated subjects. One was checked, issued a No Trespass Order, and released. The second was arrested for Trespass after Warning for violating a prior No Trespass Order and was taken to the Sarasota County Jail. 10/14/13, 8:35 AM: Campus Police received a report from a New College Staff Member in Cook Hall regarding a Burglary that occurred sometime over the weekend. Campus Police processed the scene and at this time it does not appear anything was taken. The investigation is continuing. 09/28/13, 2:49 AM: Campus Police located an underage New College Student in the area of Hamilton Center who was in possession of alcohol and marijuana. The Student was stopped earlier in the evening and referred to Student Affairs for Possession of Alcohol by a Person Under 21, Case #2013-0856. During the second Police contact he was charged with Possession of Alcohol by a Person Under 21, Possession of Marijuana Less than 20 Grams, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. 09/20/13, 11:40 PM: Campus Police located an underage New College Student in Palm Court in possession of alcohol during an Alcohol ID Check. While being interviewed by Campus Police, the Student fled from Officers and physically resisted. Campus Police and a CLC subsequently located the Student in his room and he was arrested for Possession of Alcohol by a Person Under 21 and 3 Counts of Resisting an Officer. The Student was transported to the Sarasota County Jail and was referred to Student Affairs. 09/14/13, 3:22 PM: Campus Police received a report from two New College Students reporting the theft of a laptop computer and textbook from their Pei Residence Hall East Room. 08/31/13, 1:52 AM: Campus Police received a report from a New College Student regarding a Battery that occurred earlier in Palm Court. Investigation revealed a non-affiliated subject had made physical contact with a New College Student without her consent. The Student was uninjured and the subject was charged with Battery and Trespass after Warning and taken to the Sarasota County Jail. 08/22/13, 5:05 PM: Campus Police responded to report of Criminal Mischief from a New College Staff Member. A bench was damaged in the area of Palm Court. A copy of the report will be sent to Student Affairs, Environmental Health and Safety, and Physical Plant Administration. (2013-0713)

08/21/13, 11:21 PM: Campus Police received a report from a New College Student of Criminal Mischief to several Exit Signs in the area of Dort Residence Hall. The matter remains under investigation. 08/21/13, 3:49 AM: Campus Police discovered two New College Students having an altercation in the area of Palm Court. Investigation revealed the Students were in a Domestic Relationship and that one of them had bruises as the result of the altercation. One of the Students was arrested for Domestic Battery and was taken to the Sarasota County Jail. A CLC was notified. A copy of the report will be sent to Student Affairs and the Counseling and Wellness Center. (2013-0704)

08/20/13, 8:42 PM: Campus Police stopped a vehicle for a traffic infraction on College Drive. Investigation revealed the non-affiliated driver's license was suspended. The subject was issued Criminal Traffic Citations for Driving While License Suspended and No Motor Vehicle Registration and released to appear in Sarasota County Court.

08/14/13, 10:02 PM: Campus Police stopped a non-affiliated driver for a traffic infraction on College Drive. Investigation revealed the driver did not have the proper license endorsement for the vehicle. The subject was issued a Traffic Warning, a Criminal Traffic Citation for Failure to Have Required Endorsement and released to appear in Sarasota County Court.

08/01/13, 6:00 PM: Campus Police is investigating damage to a light pole in front of the Campus Police Building. Upon reviewing camera video, it was discovered the pole was hit by a vehicle that left the scene without reporting the incident. A crash report was completed and the matter remains under investigation. A copy of the report will be sent to Human Resources. (2013-0669)

07/20/13, 10:56 PM: Campus Police stopped a non-affiliated subject for a traffic violation on the East Campus. Investigation revealed the driver's operating privileges were suspended. The subject was checked, issued a New College Traffic Warning, a Criminal Traffic Citation for Driving While Suspended, and taken to the Sarasota County Jail.

07/14/13, 12:35 AM: Campus Police discovered a damaged Stop Sign at the intersection of General Spaatz and an SRQ Airport Access Road. The matter remains under investigation as to the correct Police jurisdiction.

07/13/13, 11:02 PM: Campus Police stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation on Bay Shore Road at College Drive. Investigation revealed the non-affiliated driver was also in possession of marijuana. The subject was issued a Citation for Failure to Obey a Stop Sign and a Notice to Appear in Sarasota County Court for Possession of Marijuana Less than 20 Grams. The driver and four other non-affiliated occupants of the vehicle were issued No Trespass Orders, checked, and released.

07/11/13, 11:02 PM: Campus Police assisted the Sarasota Sheriff's Office with a vehicle stop North of the New College Campus. The non-affiliated driver had picked up a non-affiliated passenger at the Shell Station, adjacent to the Campus Community, just previous to the vehicle stop. With the assistance of Campus Police, the passenger was arrested for Possession of Crack Cocaine and Paraphernalia.

07/07/13, 10:29 AM: Campus Police is investigating damage by an affiliated-driver to the light pole in front of the Campus Police Department as a result of a Hit and Run Crash. A Crash Report was completed and the matter remains under investigation. A copy of the report will be sent to New College Administration and Human Resources upon completion. (2013-0641)

06/27/13, 8:42 AM: Campus Police stopped a non-affiliated driver for a traffic violation on Bay Shore Rd. Investigation revealed that the driver did not have a drivers license. The subject was issued a summons for Failure to Stop at a Stop Sign and No Driver's License and transported to Sarasota County Jail. The matter remains under investigation.

06/14/13, 4:30 PM: Campus Police received a report from a New College Student that his unsecured bicycle was stolen from the bike rack outside Pei Residence East. The bike was registered with Campus Police and the serial number was entered into the National Crime Database. (2013-0601)

05/28/13, 5:01 PM: Campus Police received a report from a New College Student regarding the theft of her locked bike from the bike rack at the Academic Center Plaza bike rack. Campus Police were able to determine through surveillance videos that the subject involved in the previous theft was also responsible for this theft. The subject has been identified and the investigation is continuing. (2013-0570)

05/28/13, 4:25 PM: Campus Police received a report from a New College Student regarding the theft of his locked bike from B Residence Hall. Campus Police were able to determine through surveillance video that the individual involved in a previous suspicious person complaint at B Residence Hall was involved in the theft of the bike. 05/28/13, 10:33 AM: Campus Police received a report from a New College Staff Member regarding a suspicious person in the area of the Academic Center Plaza bike rack. Campus Police checked the area for the subject but were unable to locate him. Further investigation revealed the subject may have been involved in a recent bike theft in the area. 05/23/13, 4:34 PM: Campus Police received a report from a New College Staff Member that his bike was stolen while it was parked in the Physical Plant Complex. 05/20/13, 2:57 PM: Campus Police received a report from a New College Student of the theft of items from her pocketbook over a period of several days. A copy of the report will be sent to Student Affairs and the Counseling and Wellness Center. (2013-0525)

05/17/13, 3:01 AM: Campus Police discovered two non-affiliated subjects in the Hamilton Center Parking Lot. One subject was checked, issued a No Trespass Order and released. The second subject had been previously trespassed by Campus Police on 051513 after a New College Student advised Campus Police he was offering to sell the Student a controlled substance. That subject fled onto the Ringling Museum Property and was convinced to surrender by a Sarasota County Sheriff's K9. The Sarasota Police Department and SRQ Airport Police also assisted The subject was taken to Sarasota Memorial Hospital and then to the Sarasota County Jail. The subject, who is on State Probation, was charged with Trespass after Warning and Resisting an Officer w/o Violence. The matter remains under investigation.

05/10/13, 9:43 PM: Campus Police discovered two underage New College Students in possession of alcoholic beverages in the Sudakoff Parking Lot #4A. The Students will be referred to Student Affairs. A copy of the report will be sent to Student Affairs and the Counseling and Wellness Center. (2013-0483)

The Sarasota County Fire Department responded and discovered a pull station in the Residence Hall community kitchen area had been activated. The State Fire Marshall responded to the scene and the investigation is continuing. The fire alarm control panel read "Hood System in Kitchen P: 01 C: 03 D: 0170". 02/12/13, 3:45 AM: Campus Police responded to a report of a stolen vehicle from a construction staging area near Bay Shore Road and College Drive. A Construction Worker reported that a male subject had driven off in one of the company's trucks and fled the area. Campus Police discovered a New College Students vehicle was struck by the fleeing auto as was a stop sign belonging to New College in the same area. Officers located the stolen vehicle in the Uplands Subdivision Area but the suspect could not be located. The investigation is continuing. 01/08/13, 8:44 PM: Campus Police was advised by the Manatee Sheriff's Office that a non-affiliated subject they had arrested was riding a bike off-campus that had a New College Bike Sticker. The bike had been stolen from the area of the Heiser Natural Sciences Building but had not yet been reported by its owner. The Sheriff's Department will handle the charges for the theft of the bike. The subject was arrested for Disorderly Intoxication, Trespass after Warning, and Resisting/Obstructing an Officer without Violence. The subject was issued a No Trespass Order and taken to the Sarasota County Jail.

03/02/12, 10:17 AM: Campus Police received a report from the Campus Bookstore that a day before a subject had taken two textbooks by concealing them underneath his shirt and leaving. The matter remains under investigation. A copy of the report will be sent to USF Administration and the Campus Bookstore. (2012-0218)

02/29/12, 4:57 PM: Campus Police received a report from a New College Student that her unsecured bike was removed from the area of Goldstein Residence Hall. The bike was not registered with Campus Police so it was not able to be entered into the National Crime Database.

02/24/12, 11:58 PM: Campus Police responded to a Burglar Alarm at the Campus Bookstore. Investigation revealed entry had been made and the matter remains under investigation. Nothing of value appears to have be taken but some glass was damaged. A copy of the report will be sent to USF Administration. (2012-0205).

02/22/12, 4:33 PM: Campus Police received a report from a New College Staff Member that a chain on a Physical Plant Complex Gate may have been tampered with. The incident was documented.

02/22/12, 1:45 PM: Campus Police received a report from a New College Student that his bike was stolen from the area of Pei Residence Hall South. The bike's serial number was entered into the National Crime Database.

02/21/12, 3:05 PM: Campus Police received a report from a New College Faculty Member that a piece of computer equipment was damaged in the Sainer Fine Arts Complex. A copy of the report will be sent to Environmental Health and Safety and the Provost's Office. (2012-0191)

12/21/11, 11:15 AM: Physical Plant staff reported that a traffic bollard located at the western terminus of the Dort Promenade was missing. Investigation continues.

12/21/11, 9:41 AM: Residence Life staff reported that the third floor elevator door of the Goldstein Residence Hall had apparently been "glued shut" by a powerful adhesive. A contractor had been called to open the door. Cost of damage cited as approximately $250.00.

12/19/11, 1:28 PM: Campus Police received a report from a New College Staff Member of criminal mischief to a sign at US 41 and General Spaatz caused by graffiti.

11/30/11, 11:44 AM: A New College student notified CPD that her secured bike had been taken from a Pei Residence Hall South courtyard bike rack sometime between November 23rd and the 24th. The bike was entered into the CJIS computer system as stolen.

11/28/11, 10:20 AM: The New College Parking Services Coordinator reported that an unknown suspect had stolen a "15 Minute Parking" sign and post from the north side of 58th Street. Physical Plant was notified.

11/26/11, 11:26 AM: Campus Police received a report that an office belonging to the Sailing Club had been entered illegally in the Caples Mansion. There was no apparent theft and the matter remains under investigation.

11/16/11, 3:04 PM: Campus Police received a report of Sexual Battery from a New College Student. The matter remains under investigation by Campus Police. A copy of the report will be sent to Student Affairs. (2011-0992)
