Environmental Education Award

March 31, 2006 -- A huge congratulations to students participating in New College of Florida's Science Outreach for Students (SOS) program. They have been awarded the Sarasota County Conservation Award for "Outstanding Achievement in Environmental Education" for their volunteerism and outreach to middle school science classes over the past 2 years.

Fifty one of our students have formally participated in this program with myriad others volunteering to lead nature hikes and writing grants to fund this program. Many students, teachers and principals have been thrilled with this outreach from our campus. They will be treated to lunch at Michael's on East and an award ceremony on April 18, 2006. Way to go SOS students!
