Residency
To be
eligible for
in-state fees, the student must be a U.S. citizen, permanent
resident alien or a legal alien granted indefinite stay by the BCIS.
Additionally, the student (if independent) or the student's parents
(if dependent) must prove legal residency
and physical presence in the state of Florida for the 12 months immediately preceding the
semester for which residency is sought.
Two
different documents with an issue date at least 12 months prior to the
first day of classes of the
applicable semester are required to prove legal residency. Examples
of qualifying documents include driver's license, vehicle
registration, voter registration, and a declaration of domicile.
In the absence of acceptable proof of Florida residency,
out-of-state fees will apply.
If you believe
you qualify as a Florida resident for tuition purposes, complete the
Change of Residency form found below, attach copies of all requested documentation, and submit
the application materials to the Office of the Registrar no later
than the end of the fifth day of classes as indicated on the
Academic Calendar.
The Change of
Residency form below
contains additional details. Please read and review the form
carefully. If after reviewing the form you still have further
questions or concerns, please contact the Office of the Registrar.
