Congressman Honors New College Students

(May 29, 2007) - U.S. Rep. Vern Buchanan (R-Fla., 13th District) visited New College of Florida May 25 to honor several of the College's academic standouts.

At a Friday afternoon reception in the Great Hall at the Keating Center, Buchanan presented a "Certificate of Special Congressional Recognition" to each of this year's seven Fulbright Fellowship recipients, Trevor Caughlin, Karlye Dilts, Michael Powers, Meghan Rimelspach, Alia Schultz, Eleanor Vekert and Bryson Voirin; to Caughlin, who also received a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship, and to New College's first-ever Gates Cambridge Scholarship recipient, Jonathan Breidbord.
