President John Cranor Appointed to Board of AFC Enterprises, Inc.

franchisor and operator of Popeyes Chicken & Biscuits
(December
6, 2006) -- New College of Florida Foundation President and CEO John
M. Cranor, III, has been appointed to the board of directors for AFC
Enterprises, Inc., of Atlanta, Georgia. AFC Enterprises is the
franchisor and operator of Popeyes Chicken & Biscuits.
Since 2003, Cranor has headed the New College
Foundation, a private not-for-profit corporation organized
exclusively to receive and invest funds and property on behalf of
New College of Florida and to make expenditures on behalf of the
College.
Prior to that, he served as Chairman, President
and Chief Executive Officer of Long John Silver's Restaurants, Inc.,
from 1996- 1999, and as President and Chief Executive Officer of KFC
Corporation from 1989-1994. Altogether he has more than 30 years of
management experience in the food service and retail industries,
including senior executive positions with Pepsi-Cola North America,
Taco Bell Corporation, Wilson Sporting Goods, and Frito-Lay Company.
In addition to being a member of New College's
charter class from 1964, Cranor holds a Master's of Business
Administration from Harvard University. He previously has served on
the Board of Directors for Quick Chek Stores, Inc., Capital Holding,
National City Bank, and Providian Financial Corporation.
