Jessica Wheeler Gets Udall Honorable Mention

(May 14, 2007) Jessica H. Wheeler, a biology and environmental studies student in her second year at New College of Florida, was one of 50 U.S. college students to receive an honorable mention for the Morris K. Udall Undergraduate Scholarships.

The Morris K. Udall Foundation awards 80 scholarships and 50 honorable mentions based on merit to sophomore- and junior-level college students who demonstrate commitment to environment-related careers and to Native American students.

Wheeler, from Sanibel Island, graduated from Cypress Lake High School in Fort Myers in May 2005.

New College students have now won four Udall Scholarships and three Honorable Mentions since the awards were first offered in 1996.
