Research Activities @ NCF

Starting in the Fall of 2004, ORPS will actively track and acknowledge research activities by faculty, students and staff.  Up until recently, statistical information was not easy to collect.  Now with our independence, consistent and thorough collection is vital.  Please take a moment to review the kinds of information we are seeking to collect.

  • Student Awards or Grants for independent research
  • Honoraria or presentations by students and faculty at conferences
  • Scholarships awarded to attend graduate school
  • Internships at research centers, labs or institutes in the U.S. or around the globe

Got Award? We Want to Know!

The Student Awardee Information Form

We all know that New College students receive a lot of attention -- and a lot of awards -- for their research and projects.  Up until now, tracking or promoting these prized achievements (regardless if money is attached to them or not) has required a Herculean effort.  Although, many departments collected (although for different purposes) this information in a variety of formats, it was never compiled cross departments.

It is our hope that this one form, available all the time, will fulfill the specific information needs of each of the following:  the Registrar, Career Services & Off-Campus Studies, Financial Aid, Institutional Research, Office of the President, Public Affairs and Research Programs and Services.  While this is not meant to be all-inclusive, we do expect to receive more consistency in information and dramatically reduce the repeated requests for the same information by different sources.

STUDENTS:  Here is what you do?

Once you win an award or you are honored for your work, please take a moment to tell us about it by completing the Student Awardee Information form.  It will inform everyone at once and will keep us from pestering the sponsoring faculty member a million times!  Thanks for your help!
