Other Factors:

The Federal Government uses a standard need analysis formula to determine your family's ability to contribute to the cost of your education. Income, assets, family size, number of family members attending college, dependency status, are some of the factors used to determine the Expected Family Contribution (EFC). Financial need (the amount of Financial Aid you're eligible for) is the cost of attendance minus the expected family contribution.

Cost of Attendance - EFC = Financial Need

Other items that are included in the Estimated Student Budget:

Books and Supplies   $800
Personal   $2,500
Transportation   $1,100
Loan Fees   $100

For example, if the estimated student budget is $16,043 and the estimated family contribution (EFC) is 5,000, you would be eligible for $11,043 in Financial Aid. If you have not filed a FAFSA, but would like to get an estimate of your family's EFC, you may use an EFC estimator.
