Driving to Sarasota Via Interstate 75

New College and the city of Sarasota are easily accessible from I-75, the main thoroughfare along the west coast of Florida.  To get to New College from I-75, take the University Parkway exit.  Go 7 miles west on University Parkway, until it ends at the intersection with U.S. 41.  You will have passed Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport on your right.  At the intersection of University Parkway and U.S. 41, continue straight.  You will come to the front of the John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art.

Turn right at the stop sign in front of the museum, which is Bay Shore Drive.  You will pass the historic John Ringling Estate on your left.  Continue 1/3 m
ile along Bay Shore Drive, past the historic New College entrance gate.  Immediately past this point is College Drive,  where you will turn left.  Then turn left into the first available parking lot and park your car. Walk south a short distance to Building E, where Career Services is located on the ground floor.

Flying into Sarasota
New College is a half-mile from
Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport (SRQ)

If coming by rental car, follow the airport exit signs to the main road, University Parkway.  Turn right (west) on University Parkway and continue past the intersection with U.S. 41.  You will be facing the John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art.  Turn right at the stop sign in front of the museum, on to Bay Shore Dr.  Follow the driving directions above.

Visitors may also fly into Tampa International Airport (TPA), an hour's drive from campus.

About Sarasota
Sarasota is a lovely Mediterranean-style resort city on the Gulf of Mexico, famous for white-sand beaches, cultural destinations and nearby barrier islands.

Sarasota has a unique history. It was the winter residence of 1920s circus magnates John Ringling and Charles Ringling, founders of the Ringling Brothers Barnum & Bailey Circus.  Not only did these business tycoons build mansions here along the bay, they brought their huge, internationally-acclaimed  Ringling Brothers circus to Sarasota for the winter from the late 1920s to early 1960s.  With this attraction, our "Circus City" became a magnet for thousands of nationwide visitors each year, especially from cold winter climates.

Today the pink marble mansion of Charles Ringling built in the mid-1920s is the home of College Hall, a classroom, meeting and special events facility on New College's historic bay front campus.
