International Student Admission
In
addition to the required materials listed on the Application page,
if you are not a U.S. citizen or Permanent Resident Alien, you must
submit a New College Financial Statement form (this will be mailed
to you if you are admitted, no sooner than 6 months prior to the
time that you plan to enroll). If you currently hold a U.S. Visa,
you will also need to file a
New College Visa Clearance Form.
If you are not a native speaker of English, you must submit TOEFL.
The minimum TOEFL paper test score required for admission to New
College is 560. The computer based TOEFL minimum score is 220. The
internet-based TOEFL (iBT) minimum score is 83. Visit the TOEFL test
site at
www.ets.org/toefl. The graded paper must be in English, and
you must provide a professional translation of any records not in
English.
With very few exceptions, students from schools abroad must pay to
have their transcripts evaluated (course-by-course with letter grade
and credit equivalents) by a member service of
NACES. Two services commonly used are
www.jsilny.com and
www.wes.org.
International students should take account of possible
international mail delays and strive to have all materials mailed at
least two weeks in advance of the published deadlines.
Scholarship funds are limited for international students. However,
The State of Florida, through its
linkage programs,
offers a limited number of one-year tuition reduction scholarships
to admitted students from selected countries.
Please contact the
International Admissions Coordinator,
