When You Visit:  Be sure to make time to explore the area when you come to see New College!  Even our local students get to experience the area anew when they introduce classmates to their hometown.  We have tons of festivals (all year round, thanks to our weather), lots of theater, the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall, the Florida West Coast Symphony, Myakka State Park, and great beaches.  Professional football, hockey, and baseball teams are based nearby in Tampa/St. Pete, and the spring training camps for the Cincinnati Reds, Pittsburgh Pirates, New York Yankees, the Phillies, and the Devil Rays are all located within an hour or so of campus.  Plus, virtually every major concert tours through Tampa at the Sun Dome.
